My Question is why is media acting like an Ostrich on this issue? Answers anyone??

John Kelly: Well I don't see that it's totally been ignored. And as you mentioned, there IS a story in the New York Times today. I don't know why this particular wrinkle might not have been covered as much as some might like, but I imagine the crush of other news might be partly to blame.

Hope he finds a job soon. It's sad to see bad things happening to good people.
But I have a lot to be thankful for. Thanks to IV, he has his EAD and can have one less thing to worry about in his new job search.

Mine is the same case....Did you have LUD on your I-485. Mine was received by J.Barrett on July 2nd and has an LUD on 8/5. Not received the RN yet.

If they dont have the option of having old one till Aug 17th, then they made mistake as usual. They will pull this new one down tomorrow or later or they will keep the old one in parallel with instructions for the July beneficiaries.

As far as i know only time you can recapture PD is if you filed I-485 and 180 days passed, If you haven't filed for AOS and your approved I-140 is withdrawn by the employer then you can not recapture that PD.
I would check with a good immigration attorney before making a decision.

This is correct. I went to USPS a couple days ago. If I fill out the inquiry form and send it in to USPS headquater, they will track it. If it is cashed, they'll let me know who cashed it. If it is not cashed 60 days from when you first bought the money order, USPS will refund the money to me.
The problem for us is: given the chaos and delay in the immigration process, we cannot be sure the USCIS cashes the check within 60 days of receiving it. If we file inquiry for the Money Order with USPS, we risk canceling the MO before USCIS can cash it. Then our case is screwed...
I hate USPS... They should have offered the option to seperat simple inquiry and request of refund... I cannot believe this sh&*&*!:mad:

The way you track money orders is , after 30 days from the date u gave them out , pull out the Money Order Sequence "Number" at the bottom of the top slip that you have. Give that in along with $5 to your local post office. they would track it for you and give a report.
CAREFUL though. USPS , when it goes to track the MO, if it has not been cashed, they will give back the value on that MO (say the face value of the MO is $500 , if un-cashed , they give u $500 ). So, the person intended to cash it cannot.
If cashed they give you the person's ID who cashed it.
So, wait for a while before you invoke the process.

To complicate things further, cloture on 9-11 responders failed by 57-42. Republicans are not willing to let anything go till Tax cuts bill is undertaken.

Your employer could be a behemoth and has ironclad policies. But if you discuss your concerns with the HR/immigration dept., you would be surprised to find out how much accommodating they might be.
I also work for a company which has very strict immigration policies. But we collectively discussed our issues with the management. And they are listening to our concerns and are changing their policies. As long as the changes are not affecting the company FINANCIALLY, many companies would bend even their ironclad policies.
Well, doing it on my own isn't a problem. It's just that my employer is a behemoth and has ironclad policies.
Having said that, filing fees for EAD extension are $340 and for AP $305 per applicant, right?
Now I'll try my best to get EAD/AP extended either by me or the employer but if that doesn't happen (say my employer says it's our policy for you not to do it on your own), will a gap in EAD/AP create problems?

I agree with you 100%. I think Anti-Immigrants like NumbersUSA and Tom Tancredo is better than USINPAC. For Anti-immigrants atleast we know where they stand and we know what to expect from them. usinpac is the worst kind of disease for the community where they can trick you anytime and you will not even know when they are stabbing you at your back. They just want to do photo-ops and claim the credit for the things they didn't even know. I live in VA and most people in Indian community in northern VA know about the inside story of these scamster. Initially a few lawmakers got the impression that usinpac represent the Indian American community, maybe that is what the con-artist at this org conveyed to a few lawmakers. Now everybody in DC area, including the lawmakers, know the truth about this group. A journalist friend in MD told me that even press and reporters know about this totally useless org called usinpac.
It is one thing if they do something and then claim credit for doing it. The problem is first of all they claim to represent entire Indian American community; on top of that they do not do anything about the any issue including green card issue. But when they see something happening they will try to take ownership of anything moving and will try to make a show that things are moving because of them. Just as in this case, all the members of IV sent flowers and these guys are releasing press release to tell to the world that they are the once doing this drive. Such press release from them is extremely damaging as the basic intent of the ENTIRE flower campaign was o draw media attention. In this case usinpac did not spare all the people spending days and nights to coordinate, Nixtor and English_august and thousands of people who sent flowers. How can someone stoop so low? Now they want to get media attention and that is why they have sneaked in this press release. IV core must come clean on this and clearly renounce these consistent immature acts of these con-artists. This org with extremely bad reputation and we must stay as far away from them as possible.

One more question:
When we create a application can we add any member with in the same group. My friend and myself are planning to visit India during the same time. We both are in 8th year extension and work for different companies. Both of us have to get VISA stamped. Can we create in the same application(ofcourse we need to create new application for each one after you create for one person) so that when we want to change dates like prepone or postpone it will be easy for us to modify the appointment date in one click. As dates keep changing every day/hour it will be easy for any one of us to monitor the available dates and change. We can change the dates only once and if we want do it again we need to cancel the appt and create a new one.

Hi,
I am in your stage. I am in AOS stage with EAD. I applied for FAFSA and I do qualify under 'Qualified Non-Citizen.' But, the school financial aid office was not aware of my situation and it took more than a month for me to educate and make them aware of this.
The FAO people only know about GC or Citizen. You will have to talk to the
School's International Office to evaluate your situation and ask them to talk to your FAO to explain about your immigration status.

Just updating my case in case someone is going through same situation and need help.
I mailed the two pictures that they requested on June 2nd, as today, my online status hasn't change, still says: Request of evidence sent, case placed on hold.
I made an INFOPASS appointment last friday and I just came back from talking with an immigration agent. They will expedite my I-131 for free, they said they normally do it within 30 days but he liked me and he said he was going to try to get in just 5 days.
He said he sent a request thought their intranet to the TEXAS SERVICE CENTER, they should be calling me if they need anything, if not, they will send me the TRAVEL DOCUMENT right away.
I'll keep you all posted!

Well...so now they have added addln staff to handle the annual load (1 - 1.3 mil) EAD/AP requests....
Not yet. It is still planning to hire those 1500. So soon USCIS will come up with argument regarding "Administrative burden" to hire those 1500 and set up training centers and it will take almost 2 years. Again we will hear the reason for further slow down due to this un anticipated work load. After 2 years USCIS will realize the "heavy financial burden" which will also be un anticipated and hence USCIS will come up with fee increase... Cycle will go on and on...

Set up your own company LLC. and ask them to sign corp-corp or 1099 and you be the sole owner of this company.
This way even if you dont get full time offer you can defend self employment.
W2 Contract can be a problem because of USCIS's perception of permanent job.

I am not an expert but I would think by the way USCIS works you would be better off (in terms of time) starting a new application than trying to amend an existing EB application with them.

I had my FP done at San Jose ASC and It took us around 15 min for the entire process of filling the forms,waiting to be called for FP and doing the actual FP.
The lady asked me to sign on an electronic pad(some people reported that they were asked to write their full name and sign at the bottom) which I did and she gave us some feedback forms to fill out and drop in the suggestion box.
It was easy for me to locate the ASC because i used to commute by Charcot drive to take 87 on my way back home from my old office :)
A friend of mine went without the receipt. Only his wife had the receipt. They printed his receipt right there... Even tho his appnt was a week later they did his FP the same day... he had no problems with the security guard... I guess its just ur luck!

If you are running out of time to save Candian PR under 3 years out of country stay rule, then only we have to think this canda stay.
If you can stay here and still save candian PR for this 1.5 years, just get into the system and try out here in US. That is the best bet rather than not trying at all.
Who knows you may get Labor/I140 in this 1.5 years and may get everything well.
DOL procedures - We really do not know how serious that **Supervised Recruit** is, unless it is experienced by people.
If you loose candian PR in 6 months or so, unless you land there, then we have to think about it.
Now please give me green, as i do not have many; ;)
